Inclusion & Accessibility

Your comfort and participation matter to us. The Spectrum Space Symposium is designed to be inclusive, flexible, and supportive, so every delegate can get the most out of the experience.

What We Offer

Flexible Seating Options
We know everyone learns differently. If you prefer sitting on the floor, moving during sessions, or using alternative seating, we’ve created space to support this. Bring your favorite bean bag or cushion if that helps you feel comfortable!

Sensory Spaces
We’ve listened to feedback and created two dedicated sensory rooms:

  • A quiet, no-talking zone for calm and regulation.
  • A low-stimulation space for quiet conversations when you need a break without isolation.

Lighting & Environment
Lights in most rooms are dimmable to reduce sensory overload. We’re also hoping for great weather so you can enjoy UWA’s beautiful green spaces for breaks and connection with nature.

Activities & Supports
In our quiet spaces, you’ll find a range of calming activities available. Bring along your own fidgets, headphones, coloring tools, or knitting—whatever helps you feel at ease.

Staff Support
Our team will be available throughout the event to assist if needed. Just let us know how we can help.
We encourage you to do what you need to feel comfortable and engaged. This is your space, make it work for you!
